The Education Directorate is refreshing Fraser Oval to create a natural, safe, fun and accessible space for students of Fraser Primary School to learn and play. The refreshed oval will also be a welcoming space for the wider community to enjoy outside school hours, supporting active and healthy lifestyles.
Last year, students, families, Traditional Owners and the wider community were asked to share their ideas on the Fraser Oval Refresh. Community were then invited to provide final feedback on the concept design in February-April 2026. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
The design has now been finalised. Site-establishment works commenced in May 2026.
The final design for the refresh of Fraser Oval has landed!

From 19 June – 13 August 2025, the local community was invited to provide their ideas and suggestions for the design of the Fraser Oval Refresh Project.
Traditional Owners, students of Fraser Primary, parents, and local residents participated in-person and online to tell us what they would like to see in the refresh of the Fraser Primary School Oval. A Listening Report is now available, detailing everything heard from the community.
The ACT Government will be using the feedback to inform the concept design for the Fraser Oval Refresh with the community’s interests in mind. This design is being developed in consultation with the school and will be shared with the community for further comment and feedback.
The Fraser Oval Refresh Project is now in the design phase, and works are expected to commence during the 2026 school year.
More information about the Fraser Oval Refresh Project, including the public engagement process, can be found on the Your Say Conversations page here: https://yoursayconversations.act.gov.au/fraser-oval-refresh
